One of the government's roles in the American economy is to help regulate markets and promote social well being. The extent to which the government gets involved, however, is highly controversial. According to the Center for Disease Control, in 2009-2010, approximately 69.2% of American adults were classified as overweight or obese. In 2013, the United Nations released a report saying that the United States was the 2nd fattest nation int he world with nearly 31.8% of adults being obese. |
