2015 AP Microeconomics Music Videos
Firmalicious (Monopolistic Competition)
Team Members: Yancey Hitt, Reina Matsuura, Mary Jane Moody, Kevin Rivas
"Our video is a combination of constant themes which appear in economics, and specifically monopolistic competition. You see money, a monopolistically competitive graph, product differentiated sodas, etc. It also includes its more 'educational side' where you see a teacher try a new approach to explaining a monopolistically competitive graph, through rapping a cover of 'Fergalicious' by Fergie."

Price Ceiling Controls Us (Government Regulation)
Team Members: Greg Cherry, Foster Hall, Vedant Patel, Sammy Rosofsky, and Cameron Schmitz
"This video was done in a parody style of the original music video - random, awesome shots and dope outfits. We mixed this with a story of the government regulating a monopoly. The color of the captions differentiates between the firm and the government."

Favorite Firm (Monopolistic Competition)
Team Members: Abby Beech, Enoch Cain, Julia Joy
"An economic parody of Gwen Stefani’s song, 'Sweet Escape', this video shows two firms who are trying to become monopolistically competitive in order to attract the Consumer. They both want to differentiate their products to gain brand loyalty and become the Consumer’s 'favorite firm.' The consumer contributes by dancing and attempting to make a decision."

Delta Funk (Oligopoly)
Team Members: Khadija Hussain, David Landolfi, Charlie Orr, and Quincy Ponvert
"Delta (Charlie) enters an airline market, hoping to make a profit. However, when AA (David) returns, he sees that there are two many firms in the oligopoly, so he kicks Delta out. But since Delta has positive externalities, he's given a per-unit subsidy by the government, so goes back and kicks out AA."

This is Supply and Demand
Team Members: Paola Flores, Nailah Franklin , Madelyn LaRose, and Katia Mata
"Our video didn't have a plot, but we decided to do a popular song around Cross so it can catch the student's attention."

I'm a Monopoly
Team Members: Nico Britton
"My video outlines the basic principles of the characteristics of a monopolistic firm that lives and thrives within a single-firm industry. It details how and why monopolies act the way they do, in essence, their predatory behavior toward the consumer because they are price setters. Monopolies are happy, naturally, because as my video says, 'they’re the only one there and they do what they want to do.' This is evidenced by the happy monopoly dancing in my video."

Where Is My Externality?
Team Members: Libby Faracelli, Julianne Frechette, Arianna Scasino
"This video illustrates the concepts of positive and negative Externalities and their causes, along with describing the differences between private and public goods. These can be regulated by the government through subsidies and taxes in order to create economic efficiency. Through underproducing and overproducing, the characters in this video create an adaptation of the song made famous from the movie "Fight Club" by the Pixies entitled, 'Where is my mind?' or in our case, 'Where is my externality?'"

Fresh Prince of the Market
Team Members: Jordan Counsel, Alexis Dinkins, Eusebio Matias, Celeste Rodriguez, Bridget Steele
"Our goal when working on this song was to get across the point of how a monopoly works. The upbeat tone Will Smith's 'Fresh Prince' provides us with a very separate section to play out a hip hop cover. We talk about monopolistic markets producing too little at too high a price."

(We're Not) Fancy
Team Members: Rachel Brennan, Jordan Lampo, Lewis Nelken, and Sam Smith
"An economic parody of Iggy Azalea's 'Fancy.' A group of perfectly competitive firms discover that they join together to become a market. Join them on their journey as they try to make it in the potato industry and discover all of the characteristics that they portray that makes them into the perfectly competitive structure that they truly are. A moving story about friendship, working together, and the art of price taking."

Buy Me Out
Team Members: Alondra Bermudez, Daylin Espinoza, Karla Rivera
"The video opened with good Karla owning and running a store. 'Evil' Karla then comes to possess Karla and begins to raise prices. A group of heroic misfits takes matters into their own hands to stop evil Karla. Equilibrium and Evil Karla end up killing each other. The video closes with subsidy and price crying and breaking down in front of their graves."
